“The Dining Room” was first performed in New York in 1981.  It has been a favorite of professional, community and educational theaters since that time.  The play concerns families who have developed traditions related to the uses of the dining room in their lives.  The action is comprised of a mosaic of interrelated scenes – some funny, some touching.  The cast is made up of six actors who play 54 roles of all ages and types.  Dovetailing swiftly and smoothly, the various scenes coalesce, ultimately, into a theatrical experience of exceptional range, compassionate humor, and abundant humanity.
